Trump sees opportunities in Korea's conversation

washington - US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that talks between North and South Korea offer different possibilities. He also wrote on Twitter that the sanctions against Pyongyang are starting to take effect because of the nuclear and missile tests.

'Sanctions and other measures are beginning to have major consequences for North Korea. Soldiers flee to South Korea with danger for their own lives ', Trump wrote on Twitter.

'Raketman now wants to talk to South Korea for the first time. Maybe that's good news, maybe not- we'll see it! ', Added Trump, referring to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Both Kim Jong-un and the South Korean president Moon Jae-in said earlier 'to be open to a dialogue. 'In the first instance it concerns participation in the Winter Games, but also both want to work towards a better relationship. Prerequisite for Moon is that the North Korean nuclear weapons program is stopped.
