Trump raises fraud commission

World January 4, 2018 06:03

washington - US President Donald Trump has dissolved a committee investigating fraud during the 2016 presidential election. The reason for the decision is according to the White House because the US states refuse to share information.

'Rather than committing an endless legal battle at the expense of the taxpayer, I signed an executive decision today to dissolve the commission,' Trump said in a statement. It also states that he has instructed the Ministry of Homeland Security to conduct further research and to determine the next steps.

Chairman of the committee, which was set up in May last year, was vice president Mike Pence. States were not keen on the arrival of the commission. A federal judge ruled that it was also not authorized to force them to hand over data.
