Trump not to top South America because of Syria

washington - US President Donald Trump has canceled a summit in South America this week to focus on the crisis in Syria.

Trump would arrive in Peru on Friday to attend the summit and then visit Colombia. 'At the request of the president, the vice president will travel in his place, the president will remain in the United States to monitor the US response to Syria and follow developments in the world,' said spokesperson Sarah Sanders of the White House.

Trump said on Monday that he quickly decides about an American reaction to the possible poison gas attack in the Syrian city of Douma. The United States will come up with a 'strong' reaction, according to Trump.
