Trump has again to Beijing
- The upcoming US presidential Donald Trump on Sunday (local time) again lashed out at China. He delivered two days after a controversial call by the President of Taiwan already strongly criticized Beijing.
'Has China asked if it was OK to devalue their currency, making it difficult for our companies to compete, or eliminate hefty tariffs on our products entering their country?' Trump tweeted. 'Whether to build a huge military complex in the South China Sea? I do not think so. '
China complained Saturday about a telephone conversation between Trump and President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan. Beijing sees the island as a rebellious territory. The Vice Presidential Candidate Trump, Mike Pence, labeled the call as a 'courtesy. '
The Foreign Ministry in Beijing stressed on Monday that the Chinese protest for no one may have come as a surprise. 'The whole world knows what the position of the Chinese government on the Taiwan issue,' said a spokesman.
