Trump had photo editing inauguration

World September 6, 2018 17:32

- At the request of Donald Trump, photos of the inauguration were adjusted so that it seemed as if it was busier. That writes The Guardian.

The American newspaper received this information with the aid of the Freedom of Information Act, which we would call a WOB request in the Netherlands.

The government photographer had to edit the photos, so that the empty spots in the audience during the inauguration were not visible. By cutting smartly, it seemed like a lot of people had traveled for Trump.

Trump would like to make it appear that he was busier than at the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009. Spokesman Sean Spicer came up with a firm statement at the time, in which he reproached the media for showing a less large turnout.
