moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will talk in detail about Syria at their summit in July. That is what a Kremlin spokesperson said.
The meeting on 16 July in the Finnish capital Helsinki will cause some US allies, especially the countries that want to isolate Russia on the international stage. It will also trigger fierce reactions from some Trump critics in their own country.
Russia's support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, accused by the United States and its Western allies of the use of chemical weapons against civilians, has been one of the main concerns in the tense relationship between Washington and the Kremlin.
'Syria will undoubtedly be discussed in depth,' said the Kremlin spokesman. 'A thorough and exhaustive debate awaits. '
