Toyota recalling 2.9 million cars

- Carmaker Toyota calls back a large amount of cars back 2.9 million worldwide. The RAV4 Vanguard and SUVs fitted with rear seat belts that could be damaged in an accident possibly by a metal component. The belt can tear at worst. There are at least two cases in which the rear seat belts loosened by accident.

In Europe, it comes to 625. 00 cars, in the US, 1.3 million. The other cars have to drive back to the garage, among other things around in China and Japan. The largest automaker in the world can remedy the defect by providing protection material on the metal parts.

Toyota has often been obliged to major recalls after technical problems were discovered.
