Tomb buried by police bird killed

brussels - The 2-year-old Iraqi Kurdish girl who died two weeks ago in Belgium because of a supposedly lost police bullet was buried Wednesday in Brussels. The hearse was escorted during the trip to the cemetery by a silent march of hundreds of people dressed in white. Many of them wore a white rose.

The parents dressed in black were at the forefront. The parents and organizers had called for a modest procession, without speeches or political messages.

The girl, Mawda, was in a van in which about thirty people had been stuffed, among whom were some other children. Smugglers wanted to bring them to the United Kingdom. During a police pursuit in the south of Belgium, an agent fired a shot, causing the child to die.
