to double revenue from public cloud

- Western European companies will earn in 2020 more than 34 billion euros with services in the public cloud. That is more than twice as much as the 13 billion euros last year. Every year, the sector is growing by about 21 percent, according to research by the firm IDC.

Western Europe holds one fifth of the global market. Across the world the public cloud will generate more than 172 billion euros. Utilities, insurance companies and factories will have their income in the next five years seen rising fastest, IDC expects.

Britain, Germany and France are the largest cloud markets. Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland will grow considerably.
