Thousands commemorate the murdered Jewish in Paris

paris - Thousands of people have commemorated the murdered Holocaust survivor Mireille Knoll on a march Wednesday in Paris. Minister of the Interior Gérard Collomb, Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris and other prominent politicians came to the Place de la Nation in the east of the capital.

The violent death of the 85-year-old Jewish woman has shocked France and caused global fuss. The police assume an anti-Semitic motive for the murder.

The woman was found dead Friday in her set fire in Paris. The umbrella organization of the Jewish institutions in France (Crif) had called for the commemoration march.

The police have arrested two men for the murder, including a neighbor.
