Thousands celebrate Japanese phallus festival

- Thousands of people in Japan celebrated the male member and prayers to the fertility gods. That happened Sunday during the annual Kanamari Matsuri festival, the festival of the metal phallus in Kawasaki, a suburb of Tokyo.

While also popular with tourists and festival were a large wooden penis and two smaller phalluses carried in procession, accompanied by Shinto priests. The visitors ate penis shaped sweets.
