Third convoy to besieged Syrian cities

- A third convoy of food on Monday to reach besieged towns in Syria. However, a team of social workers was stopped by armed groups. That made the United Nations said Tuesday in a statement.


         The UN and the Syrian Red Cross sent convoys to Madaya and Al-Zabadani, near the Lebanese border, where government forces are active, and from the places Foua and Kafraya, in the northeast of the country are surrounded by rebels. In Madaya, Foua and Kafraya fuel was delivered. Al-Zabadani received food and medical supplies. A group of rescuers who Foua and Kafraya wanted to visit, but was stopped. According armed groups was needed more time to ensure their safety in the area.
In the besieged city is a famine and people are living in appalling conditions.
