ankara - The Turkish government wants to extend the state of emergency once again. That happened six times before since the failed coup in 2016, reports the newspaper Hürriyet.
'It is clearly necessary to extend the state of emergency. If Parliament agrees, it will happen again, 'said Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ on Turkish television.
The government declared the state of emergency on July 20, 2016, after soldiers had made a vain attempt to oust the government. The current term expires on 19 April.
