The Netherlands 'popular' place for cybercrime

amsterdam - The Netherlands plays a major role in cybercrime. From the Netherlands and Dutch servers, many attacks are being carried out on other countries. Even in the case of countries attacked, the Netherlands scores high.

This is evident from research by security company F-Secure. The company placed several so-called locale servers in different countries to monitor cybercrime. From Russia, most cyber attacks are committed, namely 44 percent of the attacks, followed by the United States by 15 percent. The Netherlands is in third place: 7 percent of the attacks are happening from here or at least from Dutch servers.

In addition to the fact that the Netherlands is a favorite place to attack others, many attacks are also taking place in the Netherlands. It is ranked second in most of the most attacked countries, behind the US. Which targets are most attacked- individuals, companies, government agencies- is not known.

F-Secure examines the number of cyber attacks once every six months. It is striking that in the first six months of this year, the number of activities increased by 223 percent compared with the last six months of last year. Partly, this is explained by the fact that more local servers have been registered with the attacks, but to a large extent, it is also due to increased cybercrime.
