Terror group Abu Sayyaf beheads Canadian

- Departing President Aquino of the Philippines has,, brutal and senseless murder 'of a Canadian by terrorist group Abu Sayyaf hard convicted in his country. The beheading of Robert Hall also takes the fear for the fate of the Groninger Ewold Horn increasing.

According to the Philippine army is the head of the Canadian found in a plastic bag at a church in the southern island of Jolo. Abu Sayyaf had demanded 6.5 million dollars in ransom.

Of Ewold Horn still no trace. The fowler was in February 2012 with his Swiss companion Lorenzo Vinciguerra and their Filipino guide in southern Tawi-Tawi overpowered by gangsters with M16 rifles and grenade launchers. The guide managed to escape.

The Swiss fled in 2014 through the throat of one of his captors by cutting with a machete during fighting between rebels of Abu Sayyaf and government forces. Vinciguerra said Ewold Horn was ill and too weak to escape.

Abu Sayyaf is a few hundred members one of the smallest but most radical group of Muslim separatists in the Philippines. The group split in 1991 from the larger Moro National Liberation Front.

Abu Sayyaf rebels have sworn allegiance to the Islamic State. They want an independent Islamic state in the predominantly Catholic Philippines. They abduct civilians for ransom and bombings tend to put pressure on the government.

Numerous Philippines and foreigners have been kidnapped in recent decades in the southern Philippines and parts of neighboring Malaysia.
