The demonstrators are stabbed in 'gilets jaunes' (yellow vests) and take to the streets for often chaotic roadblocks and protest marches. It runs locally on accidents and serious disturbances, often at the hands of rioters dressed in black and called 'casseurs' (breakers). The biggest grievance of the yellow vests is the drop in purchasing power.
