Tens of thousands of South Sudanese fleeing

khartoum - Tens of thousands of South Sudanese have fled to Sudan this year. Definitely 31,000 people crossed the last two months, according to the UN refugee agency UNHCR, the border with the neighboring country over. It mainly concerns women and children.

The South Sudanese are fleeing from famine and political unrest in the young country. The UN warned last week that in parts of South Sudan there is famine. More than five million people are at risk thereby.

It is not the first time that South Sudanese massively flee their country. More than a million people have left since outbreak of a bloody battle in 2013 between the two populations. This happened after President Salva Kiir is vice president Riek Machar dismissed.
