tongeren - A Dutch citizen has been sentenced by the court in Tongeren to ten years in prison in Belgium for his role in a violent robbery against his former in-laws in 2015.

The man had hired an Albanian gang to collect money from the elderly couple because of a one and a half million euro debt he had built up in a relationship with their daughter. The Albanians are sentenced from three to nine years in prison.

After the relationship ended in 2012, the daughter of the businessman refused to pay the debt. The father also did not give home where the Dutch sought salvation from Albanian criminals.

In September 2015, four men robbed the couple in their villa in 's-Gravenvoeren in Belgian Limburg. The seventy was forced by violence to give the codes of the two vaults in the villa. They eventually fled with an expensive painting, a few thousand euros and a watch.
