The building in the suburb Kartal on the Asian side of the Turkish metropolis collapsed on Wednesday afternoon. The authorities are still trying to find out how that could happen. The governor of the metropolis said earlier that the top three floors were built illegally. A workshop was also located in the building without a permit.
