China claims to be the boss in the sea, but Taiwan, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines also claims. Over the South China Sea annually passes for 5 trillion dollars in trade.
Tsai is the first female president of Taiwan, which is regarded as a renegade province by China. Her party wants Taiwan independence.
- The intended president of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, is not planning to provoke China. She strives for stability in the relationship with China, though her party the DPP will have to defend the sovereignty of Taiwan. Tsai said that shortly after achieving victory in elections in Taiwan.
