Sweden upholds Assange arrest warrant

World May 25, 2016 11:39

stockholm - A Swedish court has decided that the arrest warrant against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange remains in force. The Swedish authorities want to question the 44-year-old Assange in connection with allegations of rape in 2010.

Assange has always denied. He's extradition from Britain to Sweden avoided by fleeing to the Embassy of Ecuador in London. He is afraid that Sweden extradite him to the United States because he put a lot of confidential documents from the US Army on the Internet. The Australian is since June 2012 in the embassy.

The court in Stockholm will find that there are still grounds to take seriously the accusations against Assange and that there is a chance that he withdraws from prosecution.
