Sudden eruption Etna disrupts air traffic

catánia - A sudden eruption of Mount Etna has messed up air traffic on Sicily on Monday afternoon. The airport of Catania was closed as a precaution for incoming and outgoing flights.
According to the Italian news agency ANSA, the relatively new south-east crater of the highly active volcano had thick clouds of ash. The highest volcanic mountain in Europe also occasionally spewed lava.
