- The oil production of Kuwait Sunday tumbled 60 percent due to a strike by employees of refineries. According to state oil company Kuwait Oil production fell to 1.1 million barrels per day. Last month, the country accounted for an average production of 2.8 million barrels.

Kuwait is the fourth largest producer of oil producing countries that are members of OPEC. The sharp decline in oil prices in recent months, forcing the government of the country to implement austerity measures including through firm to cut budgets.
