Steam Belgium explodes
eeklo - Four people were injured Saturday in Belgium by an explosion in a steam locomotive. According to Belgian media that happened during a festival in the city of Eeklo which commemorated the 50th anniversary drove the last steam train through Belgium.
The vehicle was one of the locomotives at the festival Stoomcentrum. During a ride between Maldegem and Eeklo, on the border with Zeeland Flanders, exploded at the height of Balgerhoeke something in the steam locomotive. It immediately occurred a safety mechanism which remained confined fire.
Two of the injured were in serious burns taken to the hospital in Ghent. The other two had lighter injuries and were treated at the hospital in Eeklo.
