- The Brazilian Senate on Thursday began the impeachment of suspended president Dilma Rousseff. She is accused of violation of the budget law, because she had filed an excessively high budget and would have entered without permission loans.
Rousseff, the first female president of Brazil, must defend Monday in front of the 81 senators.
Her opponents think they have together more than the necessary 54 votes to drop its definitive as president. That would be an end to a period of thirteen years, during which her Labor Party led the South American country.
