- Facebook has a new sports platform that provides real-time updates of events, statistics, comments from experts and popular messages from fans. Facebook Sports Stadium will operate the 650 million sports fans on Facebook.

The new service seems like an attack on Twitter that a popular destination for tweeting live about competitions. According to Michael Aaron Flicker of XenoPsi, a marketing company in New York is an attempt by Facebook to acquire more 'in the moment' involvement. That piece of the puzzle they have according to him yet.

Right now offers Facebook Sport Stadium only reports about American football matches and appears just before the Super Bowl on February 7th. Facebook lets know, however, that it will also support other sports such as basketball or football.
