SPD wants to continue talking about government participation

bonn - The German Social Democrats want to continue discussing possible government participation. A majority of SPD delegates voted at a party congress in Bonn to continue the negotiations with the Christian Democrats of Chancellor Angela Merkel.

CDU / CSU and SPD recently concluded exploratory talks about the possible formation of a coalition government. After that, the SPD delegates were allowed to comment on the negotiation result. Party leader Martin Schulz had asked his party members to give permission for further negotiations.
