SPD sets conditions to CDU / CSU agreement

World July 3, 2018 17:48

berlin - The German Social Democrats make demands for agreement with the agreement with which the German Christian Democrats have sworn their own crisis over foreign policy. Among others, the party secretary of the SPD Lars Klingbeil and deputy party chairman Malu Dreyer have spoken out against the closed reception and transit centers for asylum seekers at the border.

This plan is a crucial part of the agreement of Chancellor Angela Merkel and her CDU and the leader of the Bavarian sister party CSU, the Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer. Seehofer has recently made a strong case with its own 'master plan' against migrants who do not have a chance to obtain a residence permit. He wants the German government to take drastic measures at the border itself. Merkel, supported by its CDU and by the SPD, wants a European approach to the problem.
