Spanish police finds 9 tons of coke

madrid - The Spanish police have intercepted a record amount of cocaine. In a shipping container in the Spanish port city of Algeciras, nearly 9 tons of coke were found among the bananas, customs reported Wednesday.

The container was intended for a Colombian company in Spain and was loaded in the Colombian port of Turbo. It would be the largest amount of cocaine ever found in a single container in Europe.

Six people have been arrested in connection with the discovery. In December, the police intercepted 6 tons of cocaine at the same Spanish port.
