Spanish fighter jet fire missile by accident

siauliao - A Spanish fighter plane accidentally fired an anti-aircraft missile during a practice mission over Estonia on Tuesday. According to the newspaper El Pais, the projectile did not cause any damage. An investigation has been conducted into the cause.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense says that it is a type that is normally automatically destroyed in these situations. Nevertheless, helicopters have been sent out to track the rocket for the case that has not exploded. The population around a closed area north of Tartu is advised to stay out of the neighborhood and to report the discovery of possible debris immediately.

The Eurofighter of the Spanish Air Force is stationed on a base in Siauliai in Lithuania. Another Spanish jet fighter and two French Mirages participated in the Baltic exercise.
