Slaughtered elephant again welcome in US

washinton - The government of President Donald Trump is going to legalize the import of elephant hunting trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia. Imports from these countries were banned by the Obama administration, because the countries could not prove to protect the animals properly.

African elephants are registered as endangered species, but according to the 'Fish and Wildlife Service', the legal and regulated hunting of elephants would work in favor of the animals, because their 'very welcome' income flows back to attempts to save the species..

The number of African elephants has dropped by at least 30 percent in the past ten years. 30 000 animals are certainly slaughtered every year. That is why animal organizations make mince from the plan. The Elephant Project calls it 'reprehensible behavior of the Trump government'.

Pro-Trumpers like Laura Ingraham of Fox News also reacted shocked. On Twitter, some point out that his son Donald Trump Jr. has ever been photographed with an elephant tail in his hand and a proud look on the face.
