Slap for Kushner

Slap for Kushner

World March 1, 2018 07:09

washington - Salary says that he does not have to receive Jared Kushner, the chief advisor to his father-in-law Donald Trump. But the question arises whether the 37-year-old man from Ivanka tries to cash in on his status as the right hand of the president through his family business. Now that security clearance has been taken away, the power position of the power couple 'Javanka' (Jared and Ivanka) has in any case got a big bite.

It was General John Kelly, Chief of Staff of the White House, who now ensures that Kushner can no longer join the daily morning briefing with the intelligence services in the Oval Office that he was so keen on. It is seen as a victory of the four-star general on Javanka to break the power and influence of the couple, which until then could walk in and out in the office of their (beautiful) father. Previously, White House top strategist Steve Bannon already had a stick with the influential pair, but he lost the battle and left.

Kelly plays high game, but does what he promised as new chief of staff: creating order in the White House and following the rules. Because after a year of waiting Kushner still did not get the green light from the FBI for the highest status and worked on temporary papers that were very easy to provide.

According to intelligence sources, there were doubts about some of his business meetings abroad before he received his prominent position in the White House. He would not have reported all those meetings and his business interests to the FBI, which would cause delays in the checks. The family business, with large real estate projects in New York and surroundings, would also be heavily indebted. His sister, who also works in the family business, was already tapped when she shielded the company's contacts with the White House during an investor meeting in China.

According to The Washington Post, at least four countries- China, Mexico, Israel and the United Arab Emirates- would have tried to use Kushner's vulnerable financial positions and his lack of experience to manipulate and pander on the international stage.

Some security experts say that with the downgrade Kushner actually has the same status as the gardener or cook in the White House. But as President, Trump may share the secrets with his orthodox Jewish son-in-law if he considers it necessary. For his conversations as chief negotiator with China and the Middle East, security briefings and access to as much information as possible seem crucial for Kushner to function properly.

Kushner's spokesman said that his work did not suffer from taking away his status, but it is a bite for his position in the White House. Everywhere Kushner is involved by Trump, it even earned him the nickname 'The Trump-whisperer' and 'Prince Jared'. This is to the annoyance of some diplomats at Foreign Affairs who point out that the family ties are disruptive and that Kushner has no political experience and has never held a public office.

Trump finds the criticism and doubts about his son-in-law ridiculous. He points out that Kushner does his work in disinterest, is very intelligent and that his approach can be very refreshing in headache dossiers.
