Singapore sigh under smoke from Indonesia

- Air pollution in Singapore Friday for,, unhealthy 'levels increased due to the acrid smoke floating forest fires on the Indonesian island of Sumatra to the city-state. That left the National Environment Agency, NEA Friday.

Every dry season wildfires ravage Indonesia which country should make room for palm oil and paper pulp plantations. The fires cause smoke nuisance in much of the region and increasing public health concern. There is disruption for tourism and airlines.

Indonesia repeatedly promises to stop the fires, but every year they return. This year, Indonesia has already 454 people were arrested in connection with the arson.
