Sikh leader freed from cell

- Five armed men on Sunday in an Indian prison in the Punjab region broke and freed six prisoners. Resistance fighter Harminder Singh Mintoo is one of the prisoners freed, as Indian media report.

The gunmen fired off definitely hundred bullets and were disguised as policemen. Mintoo is a leader of an Indian rebel group that strives for an independent Sikh state in the Punjab region. He is seen in India as terrorist.

A Sikh, among other recognizable by his turban, long hair and beard, is an adherent of Sikhism, a monotheistic religion founded in the 16th century in northern India.
