Senate committee US for appointment Pompeo

washington - CIA director Mike Pompeo is a step closer to his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Affairs Committee in the US Senate decided on Monday with a narrow majority to support his candidacy. The full Senate is expected to confirm the appointment later in the week.

Initially it seemed that the presentation would end by President Trump of Pompeo. The Republican Senator Rand Paul said last month 'that he will do everything he can' to stop the appointment, but at the last moment Paul changed his mind, giving Pompeo just enough votes.

Paul regularly disturbs his party colleague Trump. For example, at the beginning of the year, he was training a Senate vote on the budget by speaking for hours.
