Security Council votes on Jerusalem resolution

new york - The United Nations Security Council will vote on a motion for a resolution on Monday stating that decisions on the status of Jerusalem are not legally valid and should be withdrawn. That is what diplomats said on Sunday in recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by US President Donald Trump.

Egypt has prepared the text, which fits on one page, and distributed it among the fifteen members of the council. The US and Trump are not mentioned specifically. Diplomats said the resolution enjoys broad support, but that Washington presumably uses its veto power.
