- European and US scientists have probably finally after a hundred years the evidence found what they were looking for all this time. On Thursday there will be news about the existence of so-called gravitational waves. Which are the missing puzzle piece in the universe.

The discovery is about the foundation of the universe. Einstein proposed that space and time form a single whole. He called spacetime. Which can vibrate. There are violent events needed, such as a collision of two black holes. If that happens, the shock waves go through the universe, like ripples from a stone in a pond. The area stretches slightly expands or shrinks a little, even though it is barely measurable.

Scientists are excited because they can look at the universe with gravitational waves in a whole new way. They see things that remained hidden until now. For example, black holes, which emit no light and all light gobble. Then scientists can perhaps get a better picture of the big bang, which the Universe about 13.7 billion years ago.
