- Saudi Arabia has executed Saturday 47 people who were convicted of terrorism. Among them was the prominent Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr Baqr. That the Saudi Interior Ministry reported.

Most of those executed were involved in a series of attacks which conducted terrorist organization al-Qaeda between 2003 and 2006, says the ministry. However, some Shiites killed those of 2011 and 2013 were involved in protests against the regime, including Nimr.
The execution of Nimr will fall ill with Iran. It had earlier warned that,, Saudi Arabia will pay a heavy price '' if the country would carry out the execution.
It is not known how the convicts are put to death. Saudi Arabia often opt for public beheadings.
The country has sharply increased the number of executions last year. In 2015 157 people were put to death, while a year earlier were still ninety.
