Sarkozy questioned over scandal campaign chest

- Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was questioned Tuesday about the financing of his failed reelection. Sarkozy insists he knew nothing of the shadow accounting to his campaign staff it afforded, or the false invoices event agency Bygmalion wrote.

The shoddy had to hide the fact that Sarkozy's election campaign took more than twice as much as the French law allows. Four former members of the conservative boss, including the president and the treasurer of the campaign, officially considered a suspect.

The examining magistrates can Sarkozy, who would warm up for another shot at the Elysée, consider following his interrogation as a suspect or as a witness.
