new york - Following on from Apple, Google and Amazon, Samsung also works as a smart speaker. According to The Wall Street Journal, the device, which has the code name Vega, has to be an extension of Samsung's voice assistant Bixby.
According to the newspaper, the speaker has been keying for more than a year, but that has not yet resulted in a satisfactory result. Samsung seems to have the most difficulty in getting Bixby fully operational in English. Bixby was shown to the world for the first time in March during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8, but until now, the assistant is only in Korean. There is currently a test version available in English, but true competition with Siri (Apple), Alexa (Amazon) and Google Assistant is still unavailable.
According to sources, Samsung's speaker is comparable to Amazon's Echo. You can ask the speaker questions, let music play and control smart devices. It is not known when the company wants to market 'Vega' but any speed seems desirable. Apple's HomePod is in the shelves in December, and in the autumn, Microsoft also blends into battle with Harman Kardon's Invoke speaker.
