'Salafist Caravan on German autobahn '

bonn - German police on Tuesday along the A3 motorway southeast of Bonn held a remarkable convoy. It consisted of old emergency vehicles such as ambulances with Hungarian license plates, loaded with relief supplies. On board were at least twelve people according to one of the drivers were on their way to Syria.

A police spokesman said that some of these travelers may cherish sympathy for jihadists in Syria. But after the identity of the people involved were examined, the convoy could continue its way, German media reported. The police had found nothing illegal.
