'Russians have hacked Florida voting machines'

tampa - 'Russian hackers have invaded some election systems in Florida and can remove voters prior to the election in November if the systems are not sufficiently protected. That says Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson against the Tampa Bay Times newspaper.

Nelson and Republican Senator Marco Rubio wrote a letter last month about potential threats to regional regulators in state elections. 'We were asked by the president of the Senate Intelligence Commission to let the Florida regulators know that the Russians are in their system,' said Nelson.

But the department that oversees the elections denies that it has received information to support the suspicion of infiltration.

Nelson is a candidate for the Democrats for his re-election. Opposition of the Republicans to the congressional elections in November is Rick Scott, who is now governor of Florida.
