Russian plan to make Trump president

washington - A Russian think tank has developed plans to influence the US presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. That has confirmed sources close to the US government on Wednesday. The think tank would have been under the authority of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The anonymous prosecutors, four former officials and three of the current US government, conclude this on the basis of two confidential documents held by US intelligence services. The documents were prepared by the Moscow Institute for Strategic Studies.

A document, dating from June last year, contains proposals for a propaganda campaign on social media and influencing the American population through Russian media. The other document, drawn up in October, warns that Hillary Clinton is threatening to win. To prevent this, it is recommended to undermine confidence in the American election system and to damage Clinton's reputation.

Putin has always denied that he has interfered with the American elections. The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies does not want to respond.
