Russia: Then you are also 'agents'

moscow - The Russian authorities may soon label foreign media operating in Russia as 'foreign agents', as happened in the United States with Russian media. The warehouse (Doema) in Moscow took a law on Wednesday in second reading.

The US Department of Justice had previously claimed that RT America television station had to register as a 'foreign agent'. This after allegations by US intelligence services that Russia interfered in last year's presidential elections. RT America has ties with the Kremlin-supported RT station.

Russia, which denies interference in the elections, said it would respond equally to the American action. A third reading is still required before the law is submitted for approval to the senior home.
