Russia condemned Beslan hostage drama

strasbourg - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) condemned Russia on Thursday in connection with the bloody hostage crisis in 2004 in a school in Beslan. Islamist terrorists took at the beginning of the school in the southern Russian city of more than 1,000 people hostage, mostly children and their parents. The tragedy led to more than 330 deaths, of which more than 180 children.

The Russian security services, according to the judges made serious errors in dealing with the crisis. The Kremlin does not agree with the verdict. Spokesman Dmitri Peskov called unacceptable criticism of Russia, since Russia is also a victim of terrorism.
