cologne - The Rhine has reached almost the highest level in a number of German cities. A water level of 8.77 meters was recorded in Cologne on Monday afternoon. The authorities in Domstad expect the level to rise a few centimeters and then go down.

In Düsseldorf the highest point of 8.40 meters in the night from Monday to Tuesday is reached. The water then also goes down there. The level in the Mosel is already falling. At Trier the level of the Moselle has already fallen below 7 meters.

The German authorities state that the restrictions on shipping can also be quickly removed. No shipping is allowed on the entire Moselle until Tuesday. On the Rhine no shipping is possible between Koblenz and Duisburg until further notice.
