Research on campaign finance Sarkozy

- Justice in France has begun an investigation into former President Nicolas Sarkozy because of suspicious donations in 2012 to his election campaign. This was announced by the prosecutor Tuesday.

The 61-year-old Sarkozy Tuesday was the day questioned in Paris. At the end of the session he was informed that he is suspected of illegal funding of an election campaign , according to the prosecutor.

The study does not necessarily mean that it comes to a lawsuit against the former president. It is a big blow to his political ambitions. Sarkozy wants to compete again in November to the candidacy of his Conservative Party for the presidential elections next year.
