'Rescue ship Aquarius not welcome in Malta'

madrid/valletta - Malta does not permit the rescue vessel to moor the Aquarius to refuel, store supplies and replace the crew. According to the MSF aid organization (MSF), the Maltese authorities have given no reason why the ship is not allowed.

The Aquarius was in the news earlier this month when the loading with more than six hundred migrants picked up from the Mediterranean was refused by Italy. The ship eventually sailed to Spain where the migrants were allowed to disembark.
