Republican senator VS injured after attack

WARREN COUNTY (ANP)- Republican senator Rand Paul (54) was attacked by a man at his home in the United States state of Kentucky, causing slight injuries. The man is arrested and stuck to suspicion of attempted intentional abuse with injury.

The incident happened Friday afternoon (local time), but was announced only on Saturday, the US transmitter CBS reported. What the motive of the 59-year-old attacker is and what the incident was about to play is still unknown. The police in Kentucky are investigating the matter further.

A spokesman for Rand Paul said that the senator is in good health and has only suffered minor injuries. Paul was also present at the baseball match last June, where his fellow mate Steve Scalise became seriously injured when a man opened fire on sports politicians.
