Renowned dancer Sarabhai (97) deceased

- Mrinalini Sarabhai, the famous dancer and choreographer of Asia, is Thursday at the age of 97 at her home in India deceased. That her family announced.

Sarabhai danced over sixty years of classical Indian dance forms such as Bharatnatyam and Kathakali. She was known not only to portray the work of others. She wrote the choreography of more than three hundred dances. They also founded the city of Ahmedabad in the famous art school Darpana Academy of Performing Arts.

Besides dancing she found time to write novels, poems, children's stories and plays. Mrinalini Sarabhai has won numerous awards and has been honored numerous times for her multifaceted work.
